The Spirit of Combat

TLDR: A guy from a corp we just evicted from a wormhole wanted to join us.  He doesn't fight. I gave  him money to buy a ship to fight with, still no fight.


I post a lot about what it takes to join us. Its really not much honestly. We don't require skill points, money or characters. We aren't even very good. We don't consider ourselves to be elite pvpers, but we do engage when we can. We are just active.

We call it the "Spirit Of Combat". The idea, that ships are meant to be exploded. Shots are meant to be fired. You must have it. No fucks given pvp.

 Cloudhunter Yannamr is a newer SUSU member, good one too. He gets convo'ed by a newbie in a bomber who was logged off in the wormhole we just evicted his corp from. Cloudhunter is trying to sell him an exit to K-space. During the negotiations the newbie opens up a convo with me.

I sent the guy 20 million ISK to pay the exit ransom. He had the book marks to get back into the hole. He had a chance to bring back a pvp cruiser and fight for his corp. To be a part of pvp content, to participate in no fucks given pvp.

Even if his old corp were our mortal enemies for that eviction weekend. He could have shown some level of effort to change the perception of what we thought of them with a single cruiser. Even if he came back and died in a terrible fire, he would have gotten the respect of our corp. That alone would have gotten him in the front door.

Instead he made a half ass bombing run, paid the ransom and took the exit. Never looking back.

I left the chain open for hours hoping he would return and be a good applicant. Nothing.
